¡Cómo he crecido!/ Oh, How I have grown!

This is just a little example of how I have grown!

This is June 28, 2011. Vanessa is four days old and it is time to go home!

Vanessa is 10 weeks old and is wearing the same outfit!

Our little girl has brought us so many joys in the last 10 weeks. She is naturally happy and brings smiles to everyone she meets.

2 Months Old! 2 meses!

This is Vanessa on August 2011. Happy 2 months baby girl! Vanessita en agosto del 2011. ¡Feliz 2 meses niña linda!

Here we are at our two month check up before the immunization. I am so happy in daddy's arms.
Here mommy holds me and you can see that I am finally gaining some weight.
I am a calm little girl that only cries if I am hungry. When I am wet I get the hiccups and that is my parents sign that it is time to be changed. I can sleep with any noise in the background or in complete silence and have started sleeping in my crib that I inhertied from mom's side of the family.
I am always smiling. I love to smile when people talk to me and I am beginning to talk to them as well. Mom has gone back to work so I make Tía Tania and Grandma Juanita smile during the day and make my parents smile in the afternoons!  Siempre estoy sonriendo.

Baby Talonia arrived via C-section after 23 hours of pitocin, praying and struggling! At the end of the horrific ordeal we were blessed with a 5 lb 12 oz beauty who we have named Vanessa.

Here Vanessa is 24 hours old and below she enjoys a little nap with daddy who is so happy to have her here!
This photo is Vanessa at 2.5 weeks old. She is growing and eating and sleeping like a normal newborn.
I don't have tons of time to blog (as you can imagine) but I am so grateful to the Lord Jesus Christ and for the blessing of Eternal Families. We have been overly blessed and Vanessa is the joy of our home! Thank you to all you for your love and support.

37 Weeks and Counting... What I have learned.

Ok yes I am anxious...excited and ready to hold this little one in my arms. Before pregnancy is over I want to write down something’s that I have been feeling, thinking, and meditating on.

  1. The scariest day of this pregnancy was our 10-week listening to the heartbeat when we couldn't hear anything. We were immediately sent to an ultrasound and when the baby came up on the screen she distinctly waved at us... I have never taken a deeper sigh of relief.
  2. The first time I felt the baby kick I felt a flutter of butterfly kick through my abdomen. It was the most surreal moment and had I not been in a quite place I would have missed it.
  3. I have learned that my body needs nourishment every four hours to be balanced and to feel good. This is not a want but a need. I function best when I have eaten a healthy snack or meal and have had plenty of water.
  4. I have had some pleasant and unpleasant dreams about things that have changed my life during this pregnancy.
  5. The most difficult thing that has occurred during this pregnancy has been brushing my teeth. I cannot handle the toothpaste… and have tried everything to remedy it with no avail.
  6. Your father and I worry every day if we will be good enough parents for you. We are reassured on a daily basis by others and regardless of what may happen we want you to know that we loved you before you were born.
  7. This has been the happiest moments of my life second only to being sealed to your father in the House of the Lord. Both experiences have come with challenges but overwhelmingly the blessings have outweighed those challenges.
  8. I am so grateful that we have the Gospel of Jesus Christ in our lives. It has given us the perspective that this baby is a true miracle and blessing. I am grateful for doctrine of eternal families and am grateful that the Lord would feel us worthy enough to have this baby.

Baby Shower!

We are so grateful to have so many wonderful friends and family members that came to support us at the Baby Shower. This Baby Shower Extravaganza was put together by my beautiful mother, my sister Rachel, my sister in law Fabiola and my wonderful husband. We served Carne Asada, rice and beans, fresh punch, a beautiful cake and BYU Sparkling Sherbet.

The whole week had been super duper rainy and everyone inisted that I have a plan B. But weather.com kept saying it would be sunny so I just kept praying that it would, had a little faith and it was an amazing day. Besides being at the park on a beautiful day we had a piñata tha Fabiola gave us which had balls, money and tons of candy in it as well as a cotton candy machine. All of the kiddies loved it!

It was a wonderful day that we will always remember! Thank you for your support!
¡Fue un día maravilloso que siempre recoradremos! ¡Gracias por su apoyo!

28 Weeks Preggo!

Spring has Sprung and so has my baby bump! I am 28 weeks and I have had a fairly healthy pregnancy. I haven't really had any cravings and the second trimester has been smooth sailing so far. Which has been nice since graduation is coming up and the end of the school year as well. These are pictures that Adrian took of us in our backyard next to our pretty spring trees. Only 12 weeks to go and we are so excited!

¡Solo faltan 12 semanas!

Sometimes . . . A veces . . .

Sometimes I just need a day, an afternoon, an hour, a minute to breathe. Today was that day. After running myself ragged trying to get through my graduate program, internship hours, and 40 hour work week of 6 preps . . . I took the afternoon off. I came home, I made dinner for my husband and my BFF came over to bring me the cutest little girl stuff! I even had time to take a nap and I already feel better. So here's to sometimes and just breathing!

Baby Talonia is a GIRL!

We are so happy to know that Baby Talonia is a GIRL! We are falling in love with our little girl and can't wait for her arrival! The Due date is about 4 1/2 months away. Time is going by so quickly but I think it's because I have been so busy.

Today we did some clothes shopping with Grandma Vikki. Yeah! Pretty girl clothes makes me smile! Can't wait to hold our little one that already likes to dance around in my tummy! : )

Now to pick names! . . . ¡Ahora para escoger nombres!

Happy New Year!

From my behalf this has been an unpredictable and wonderful year. It began in January with a wedding proposal that I was expecting but was still surprised when it actually happened. It was a wonderful year for my job and career with me finishing my second year of Grad school two days before my wedding. Having a beautiful wedding in June as a half way point, with a wonderful breather in our Honeymoon in Canada. It was great to come back to work and school for both of us and then the greatest blessing finding out that we are expecting in November. The last two years have been a roller coaster of emotions with my change of jobs from Dixon to Mt. View and beginning Grad school. Now I have applied for administrative positions for the next school year and I will finish Grad school in April 2011. It is amazing how fast time has flown. I am also so grateful that Adrian and I have been able to meet our personal goals. For example: we finished reading The Book of Mormon together by Christmas Day and have started to read again. The Lord has truly blessed us and although I have to admit there are moments of apprehension of not knowing what is next, I am so excited and ready for the next year to come. Thank you for reading our blog, for allowing me an outlet, for your friendships and support throughout the years! May the Lord bless continue to smile upon us all is our 2011 New Year desire for you and your loved ones!

Expecting . . .

We are expecting it is official! We found out the first few days of November that I was almost 7 weeks along. The first week of December we had our first ultrasound. It was a little scary because they couldn't find the baby at first, and then they thought it was two. Well there were two sacks but one was empty. I guess that is more common than it sounds. The baby measured a little small so they are not sure how far along I am .

The baby is facing to the left. His eyes are dark black and has his arms out and legs out. He is sitting. When we finally got him on the screen he waved as if to say "Hello folks, I'm right here." I don't think I had ever taken such a deep breathe of relief. So for now we are due in July and your guess is as good as mine!

We will know in February whether it is a boy or a girl so we will keep you updated. I am doing ok. Have lost some weight but I think my appetite is coming back-every 4 hours on the clock if not I'm sick! This is a demanding baby as I am sure we both were-ha, ha, ha!

We would love name ideas. . . but lets keep them Latino so it goes well with Talonia!
More updates to come!
